Animas River Trails & Whitewater Park — Trails along the Animas River for walking, biking, and enjoyment of the river scenes; plus a whitewater section for kayaking / rafting.

Farmington Lake & local parks — Good for relaxing, birding, outdoor time.

Dunes Vehicle Recreation Area — Off-road / ATV / motorized terrain a short drive away for more active adventure.

History, Culture & Museums

Aztec Ruins National Monument — Ancient Pueblo ruins, including a reconstructed “Great Kiva” and ceremonial structures from ~1100s.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park — A more extended drive, but significant ancestral Pueblo sites and monumental architecture.

B-Square Ranch — A private wildlife refuge + two museums (Bolack Museum of Fish & Wildlife, Bolack Electromechanical Museum) on a working ranch.

Farmington Museum & Visitor Center — Local history exhibits, rotating displays, and a good starting place to learn about the area.

Museum of Navajo Art & Culture — Celebrates Navajo (Diné) art, history, weavings, and culture.

Historic Downtown / Downtown Commercial District — Walking around Main Street & Broadway through the historic eight-block area with old architecture, shops, and local flavor.

Golf & recreation courses — Pinon Hills Golf Course is one of the local options.

Shopping / Mall — Animas Valley Mall is the largest enclosed shopping center in the Four Corners region.

Farmington Public Library — A nice community library with architectural interest, local programs, and reading resources.
